Study on Isosceles Triangle Theorem

Introduction:
A triangle is a geometrical figure that has three sides, three angles and three vertices. The vertices of a triangle are joined using the line segments called the edges or sides of a triangle. Thus, any three non-collinnear points in Euclidean geometry, determine a unique triangle.
On the basis of the lngth of their sides, the triangles can be classified into three categories:
1. Equilateral Triangle: A triangle whose all sides ae equal is called an equilateral triangle. All its angles are also equal.
2. Isoceles Triangle: A triangle whose only two sides are equal is called an Isoceles Triangle.
3. Scalene Triangle: a triangle whose all sides are unequal is called a scalene triangle. All its angles are also unequal.

Isoceles Triangle Theorem

As discussed above, an Isoceles Triangle has two equal sides.
Theorem:
"Angles opposite to equal sides are equal."
or "Equal sides have equal sides opposite to them."
Thus, the two angles opposite to two equal sides of triangle are also equal. So, an Isoceles triangle has two equal sides and two equal angles.
